misled by Leung Wing San, a bar to the workmen, and worked for the Imperialists. This made us unable to secure entire success in our strike. We hate very much Leung and his men in the Wai Chi Wui, who are great obstacles in the way of the patriotic movement of us workmen. We must put them to death. We workmen must co-operate with one another in a friendly manner, and should by no means be at enmity with one another. The present assembly of the workmen of Canton and Hong Kong is a sign of their co-operation, and surely we shall
be successful.

Then several others again made speeches, denouncing Leung for having sold his influence to the Imperialists to suppress their strike and patriotic movements, and declaring that steps should be taken to kill him. Their speeches were particularly vulgar and violent. They also asked the Representatives to convey to their workmen on their return the revolutionary spirit which will conquer everything.
The above is the outline of what happened at the
meetings at Canton during the past several days.
The workmen at present are divided into 2 factions: (1) Communists The Strike Commission, the Provincial Labour Representative Union and the All Hong Kong Labour Association belong to this faction.
-
(2) The Kuomintang The Hong Kong General Labour Union and the Engineers" Institute are in this faction.
The Engineers' Institute is opposed to the Labour Representative Union. The Government is helping the former in secret, and the Communists, on account of this attack, are showing signs of weakness.
